Neighbourhood planning was introduced through the Localism Act 2011. Communities can shape development in their areas through the production of Neighbourhood Development Plans but for a Neighbourhood Plan to be accepted, it must respect the policies in the Cornwall Local Plan. Once adopted the plan will run until 2030, but can be reviewed during this time.
